New Shop Opened in Hawkshead, Cumbria

Our new shop in the square at Hawkshead opened in August 2010.

Hawkshead is a picturesque and charming village in the heart of the Lake District National Park, Cumbria, England. The area around Hawkshead offers a delightful place to visit. Nestling in the beautiful vale of Esthwaite, Hawkshead is characterised by the cluster of whitewashed houses and is within easy reach for Sawrey, Outgate, Satterthwaite, Grizedale and Hawkshead Hill.

Our new Peter Rabbit Shop is situated just a stone's throw from the Beatrix Potter Gallery run by The National Trust. We carry a wide range of products as well as a selection of designer and collector teddy bears.

In January 2011 we will be carrying out an extensive refit creating in the process another flagship store. Why not pop in and say a cheery "Hello" to Lesley and her staff, alternatively they can be contacted on 015394 36003 - prhawkshead@lakedistrictestates.co.uk

Mr Jeremy Fisher Miniature Figurine

This figurine depicts a scene with Mr. Jeremy Fisher the frog, from Beatrix Potter's classic collection of children's books. Mr. Jeremy Fisher goes fishing for minnows on his lily-leaf fishing boat, wearing his bright blue mackintosh and goloshes to keep his feet dry. As he is not a very successful fisherman, he spends a lot of his time sitting cross-legged on his boat, eating butterfly sandwiches or, in this case, reading a book. The figurine brings the delightful character to life and is a valuable part of the Beatrix Potter collection. It is also an excellent ornament for a child's nursery.

Border Fine Arts has been producing The World of Beatrix Potter resin figurines since 1987 and over the years, it has developed an impressive range of collectible items that appeal to Beatrix Potter patrons of all ages and from all walks of life. They also produce a fabulous range of earthenware figurines in the Beatrix Potter Classics collection. More mature customers may well appreciate the value of these classic collections, but the characterful, handcrafted and hand painted figurines also make a wonderful gift for children of any generation.
